Obviously ROR cant be done until February. But its not surprising the Avs don't want to give him the 6.5 qualifying offer or sign him long term for more than Duchesne and Landy.

Young dman... Who habs got that are young enough? PK, Emelin, Diaz? I would assume PK is definately out. Trading Emelin would be a weird move considering how important he is to the team.

Would Beaulieu be consider as the young Dman? Still prospect IMO.

Emelin as a centre piece is a real head scratcher.. I love RoR, but habs needs Emelin badly, and I hate the fact that RoR is FA at the end of the year.

Subban won't be traded. And we have too many forwards. And we have too many centers. Next year, the team will have to sign Pk, Eller, Markov, Diaz, a def, and maybe one forward. They will use the new space under the cap on subban, and they'll split Gionta, Parros and Murray (if they don't resign him) salaries on Eller and Diaz ... I can't see the Habs trading prospects and picks for a 6M player. Unless they succeed to move Bourque or Gorges, but again, I think the need is more for a def that can take Gorges PP time...

He hasn't been horrible, Canuck fans just always need to rip on someone, he's playing tough minutes and leading the team in ice-time. He hasn't played up to his potential, but he's not overpaid in today's market, especially when the cap continues to go up.

I am actually thinking that Diaz will either get trade or not resigned. The more I think, I feel like the young Dman Ek is talking is Diaz.
I really can't think of any reason why MB would trade Emelin.

Beaulieu would make sense for sure since Roy knows him well through the QMJHL.
